Kazunori Ueda

Kazunori Ueda was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan. At eighteen he began training in Kyoto salons, only to find out he had an innate ability to master hair.

In 1988, Kazunori made his big move to New York City, where he soon developed a large freelance clientele consisting of top magazines and photographers.

Kazunori has styled for publications such as: Dazed and Confused, W, Elle, Interview, Vogue Nippon, In Style magazine, and Italian Vogue. He has also worked with top photographers Torkil Gudnason, Dah Len, Alex Cayley, Markus Klinko, Guy Aroch, and Rankin. His work is often referred to as “genius” and his long list of celebrity clientele can attest to his amazing work. Kazunori has graced the heads of celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Melanie Griffith, Heather Graham, Jordan Sparks, and many more.

After spending thirteen years at the Warren-Tricomi salon as a top hairstylist, Kazunori collaborated with master colorist Stuart Hirsch to open their popular downtown salon, Kayrunn Hirsch.
